Job Description

Innovative Partnerships Group is looking for a dynamic business development consultant with account executive and management consulting experience to join our forward-thinking sports and entertainment firm operating at the intersection of top global sports and entertainment properties. This position will have a primary focus on FC Barcelona and the Espai Barça sports & entertainment project, based in Barcelona, Spain.

This individual will have day-to-day account responsibilities and serve as client facing lead with FC Barcelona and Espai Barca project team(s). The position is based in Barcelona, Spain. The candidate has experience in business development, management consulting and/or international development projects with a successful track record. This candidate is able to lead and execute against measurable timelines and has a passion for sports, partnerships, marketing and business development with an emphasis on being part of a team to execute long-term partnerships and support the creation of new commercial/revenue streams. With a strong business acumen and solution-based management style, this individual will be key in delivering the success of FC Barcelona’s new sports & entertainment campus, Espai Barça.

Key Responsibilities

  • Responsible for leading project management and day to day business development & partnership activities for the firm’s prestige Client, FC Barcelona and their new sports & entertainment district, Espai Barça
  • The primary focus and performance measures will be based on the successful management and execution of commercial partnerships on behalf of FC Barcelona.
  • Overall project management, and day to day engagement in person at Client offices.
  • Leading connections and collaborations, across multiple internal and external stakeholders including the Club’s commercial, technology, and operational teams, the project’s General Contractor, and our firm.
  • Manage day to day business development activities with virtual and in-person meetings and pitches/presentations
  • Co-manage end-to-end sales process from outreach to contract execution for naming rights, founding partners, B2B partnerships, and other sponsorships.
  • Organize, prepare & lead weekly external Client meetings and/or virtual calls including agendas, deliverable tracking, pipeline reports and ongoing key account prioritization
  • Work with senior executive team on identifying new partnership opportunities related to Espai Barça across key industry categories
  • Drafting presentations, proposals and term sheets reflecting Espai Barça partners
  • Working closely with studio to manage prospects and set portal sites and create and get approval for deliverables in a timely manner
  • Effective and ongoing communication of Client needs and demands and accurate management of internal resources to ensure timely performance.
  • Ongoing tracking and reporting to senior leadership on progress related to the Espai Barça project, including projections, schedule management & overall business opportunities on time-sensitive & as needed basis.
  • This role may require travel

Experience & Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree is required
  • MA/MBA degree is strongly preferred
  • 7-8 years of client facing work experience, preferably business development & partnerships
  • 3+ years of management consulting or internal client project management preferred
  • Bilingual (fluent in English & Spanish; proficiency in Catalan is a plus)
  • Position will be based in Barcelona, Spain
  • Ability to manage multiple priorities and relationships simultaneously
  • Strong decision-making and problem-solving skills
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills, including presentation and proposals development
  • Willingness to work across multiple time zones and ability to travel as needed
  • Proven track record of successful project management within sports & entertainment
  • Exceptional organizational and time management skills
  • Familiarity with Commercial Partnerships & Sponsorships is a plus

  • Must have EU citizenship or Spain Work Visa
